My everyday skincare routine

My skin is pretty uncomplicated to handle. I’ve never dealt with acne or bad blemishes and there is barely any product I couldn’t use on my face. That doesn’t mean that I only use the next best lotion from the drugstore down the street. I’m always on the hunt for a better skin cream, a better body scrub – so for today I want to share with you some of my holy grails straight from my bathroom-cupboards.

In the past few years I’ve become a huge fan of natural cosmetics like Dr. Hauschka or, a little less expensive brands, like The Body Shop. So this Dr. Hauschka Eye Balm is my holy grail for the extremely sensitive skin around my eyes – day and night. Another product I’ve truly fallen in love with is the Clinique Superdefense Daily Moisturizer. It’s totally overpriced but my skin has never felt better and more nourished since I started using it. During summertime I will probably switch to a more liquid, less nourishing face lotion but for now and for the colder season this one is perfect. To keep my skin clear and without any visible pores I use the Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser. For my lips, the annoying dry part of my skin, I use the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Skin Protectant Balm in the mornings and the Rituals Lip Service during daytime.

Everybody loves a good spa night at home. And for the perfect spa time you need the perfect face masks. The masks from Origins are of course no secret but I got to mention them just because they are totally awesome and effective. My holy grail is the double power of two Origins masks combind once a week – first I use the Origins Out of Trouble 10 minutes mask and during nighttime I like to put on the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight mask. For my body I’m obsessed with the Weleda Pomegranate Shower Lotion, this smell is heaven for me. After that, during the colder season, I like to put on some of the extremely rich Hawaiian Kukui Cream from The Body Shop. It takes a while to sink in because of the buttery consistence but the morning after your skin feels super soft and nourished.

At nighttime I like to keep it simple because I’m too tired and I can’t stand the idea of spending hours in the bathroom just to cleanse my face. Most of the evenings I only use some makeup wipes and my beloved Nuxe Nuxellance Detox night cream and the Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm just for the sake of going to bed as quickly as possible. But whenever I have a little pamper session I like to use the Clinique 7 Day scrub cream and afterwards some of this Rituals Night Balm for the sensitive parts of my face like my eyes and around my nose. This balm is extremely rich and nourishing and I accidentally started using it on my face, because actually it’s a hand balm. But who cares, I love the calming, decent smell of it and at least it does good for my skin.

I guess after all my skincare is no miracle, that’s why it’s called everyday skincare routine and it changes all the time because I love to try out new stuff – and sometimes a hand balm on my skin. But hey ho, these are the bits and bobs I really trust and which fit me and my unproblematic skin. If you would like to list some of your holy grails when it comes to skincare, feel free to leave them in the comments down below, I would love to read that. Lots of love, L
